Kibble Scholarship
Kibble Foundation Scholarship Grants are available ONLY at the following institutions: The Ohio State University, Ohio University, University of Rio Grande, Rio Grande Community College, Marietta College, Hocking College, and Washington State Community College. Recipients must be US Citizens and graduate of a Meigs County High School. Available only to undergraduate students for both associate degrees and four-year bachelor’s degree. Applicant must be a full-time student. Application may only be submitted to ONE school. Application available in the Guidance Office or it can be printed using this link. You must return to the University you plan to attend. Deadline May 15, 2022.
Dill Arnold Cutler Scholarship
Awarded to any Meigs County High School graduate who attends one of the following colleges: Ohio University, University of Rio Grande, or Marietta College. The application linked here is specific to Rio Grande College. Contact Marietta College for application if you are attending Marietta. At Ohio University no application is required it is already added to your financial aid. An application must be resubmitted each year. The application is available in the guidance office or it can be printed using this link. You must return to the University you plan to attend no later than May 15, 2022.
Middleport Youth League/ David Boyd Scholarship
Applicant must be a Meigs High School senior, who has played for the Middleport Youth League. The student must attend a college or university on a full-time basis. Application is available in the guidance office or it can be printed using this link. Return to the MHS Guidance Office no later than May 1, 2022.
The Athens-Meigs County Farm Bureau and Bickle Insurance Services
The Athens-Meigs County Farm Bureau are pleased to announce two scholarship opportunities this year. One scholarship will be awarded to an Athens county graduate and one to a Meigs county graduate. The deadline for entry is April 5, 2021. Recipient will be notified of the scholarship prior to high school graduation. The scholarship check will be sent to the student or directly to the college of the students choice, following proof of enrollment. Special preference will be given to applicants planning to study an agricultural related field. If you have questions please call the Athens-Meigs County Farm Bureau office at 740-201-2739. The deadline to apply is April 18, 2022.
Susan G. Park Scholarship (Middleport Alumni)
Must be a direct descendent of at least one Middleport High School graduate. They must be a natural child or grandchild. They are not accepting applications from a great-grandchild at this time. Must have at least a 3.5 GPA (unweighted). Must include high school transcripts, photo, and letter of acceptance from an accredited university or college. Application Deadline May 2, 2022 to one of the trustees listed on the application.
1967 Brownell Ave. Graduates Scholarship (Middleport Alumni)
Must have at least a 3.0 GPA (unweighted). Must be a natural child or grandchild of at least one Middleport High School Alumnus. They are not accepting applications from a great-grandchild at this time. Must include high school transcripts, photo, and letter of acceptance from an accredited 4 year university or college. Special consideration will be given to a grandchild with a connection to a 1967 Middleport High School graduate and/or a 2022 graduate of Meigs High School. Application Deadline May 2, 2022 to one of the trustees listed on the application.
Crawford Gray Lewis Scholarship (Middleport Alumni)
Scholarship recipients must be the child or grandchild of a least one Middleport High School Alumnus. They are not accepting Must have at least a 3.0 GPA (unweighted). Must be a grandchild of a Middleport High School Alumnus. They are not accepting applications from a great-grandchild at this time. Special consideration will be given to an applicant with an affiliation to the Middleport Baptist Church. Must include high school transcripts, photo, and letter of acceptance from an accredited 4 year university or college. Moody Bailey Scholarship (Middleport Alumni)
Must have at least a 3.0 GPA (unweighted). Must be a grandchild of a Middleport High School Alumnus. Special consideration will be given to a student whose grandparent had Mrs. Bailey at Middleport High School, but is not required. Must include high school transcripts, photo, and letter of acceptance from an accredited 4 year university or college. M.L.T.A Scholarship
Application: Must Complete Meigs Local Scholarship Form. Must be returned to Guidance Office by deadline.
Description: Any senior can apply for this scholarship.
OVEC Kyger Creek Science Scholarship
Application: Must Complete Meigs Local Scholarship Form. Must be returned to Guidance office by deadline.
Description: Any senior can apply for this scholarship. Scholarship will be awarded to a senior who has excelled in the subject area of Science.
Parker Long Scholarship
Application: Must Complete Meigs Local Scholarship Form. Must be returned to Guidance Office by deadline.
Description: Participation in school and church activities receive priority.
Student Council Scholarship
Application: Must Complete Meigs Local Scholarship Form. Must be returned to Guidance Office by deadline.
Description: Any senior that is a member of student council can apply for this scholarship.
Terry Ohlinger Memorial Scholarship
Must Complete Meigs Local Scholarship Form. Must be returned to Guidance office by deadline. This scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female student in the amount of $1,000 each. Preference given to students majoring in Education.
Dennis Hackett Scholarship
This scholarship is in memory and a tribute to Dennis Hackett from his family and friends. This scholarship of $2000 each will be given to Meigs High School students. Application must include a transcript of first semester grades of senior year, letter of acceptance, photo, and essay. The application and required documents must be turned into the Guidance Office no later than May 2, 2022.
Dr. Kelly Roush Get Back in Action Scholarship
This scholarship is to encourage academic excellence and athletic leadership. There will be 4 scholarships awarded from applicants in Gallia, Meigs, Mason and Jackson counties. Qualifications: 3.0 GPA, Graduating senior, participation in athletics, accepted to an accredited college, university or vocational school on a full-time basis. The Deadline for submission of application is April 22, 2022,
Brandi Thomas Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is available to any Meigs High School senior or graduate attending college who participated in track or cross country for a minimum of 2 years while in high school. The completed application must be mailed to the BTMS Selection committee on or before May 1, 2022.
Judy McCarthy Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is in honor of Judy McCarthy, a former math educator for Meigs High School for over 30 years. Recipients must be a member of the senior class and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5. Two recipients will receive a $1000 scholarship toward college expenses. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2022 and the application must be returned to the Guidance Office.
Meigs Athletic Booster Scholarship
Two $500 scholarships will be awarded (one male and one female). You must be a senior who has completed at least 3 athletic seasons to be eligible. Deadline to turn in application to the Guidance Office is May 5, 2022.
Dennis Boggs & Adam Grim Scholarship
Available to a MHS senior who has attended Meigs all four years of high school and has participated in sports for at least three out of the four years. Completed applications are due to the guidance office no later than May 13, 2022.
Middleport Alumni Scholarship
Available to a child or grandchild of a Middleport High School Graduate. Applicants should send a transcript, a resume of activities and career objectives, a current photo, a copy of parents’ tax return summary, the name and graduation year of the alumni parent or grandparent and include the name of the educational institution that you plan to attend. Submit Application to the Middleport Alumni Association (Diane Lynch) no later than May 1, 2022.
Smith's Construction Scholarship
Applicants must be a Meigs High School senior who plans to attend either a 2 year community college, 4 year university, or trade school with an interest in majoring in Business, Engineering or Construction related programs. Applications must be received by the Guidance Office not later than April 29, 2022. One $500 Scholarship will be awarded to a senior attending Meigs High School, Pomeroy, Ohio.
Meigs Local Alumni Association Scholarship Application
The Meigs Local Alumni Association will present at least one $500 scholarship to a member of the Meigs High School Class of 2022 that has demonstrated a commitment to civic responsibility during their high school career. Applicant must have at minimum a 3.0 GPA.
In addition to the scholarship application, students should also complete the interview questions included with the application. Both completed applications and interview questions should be returned to the guidance office, no later than May 1, 2022.
DREW WEBSTER AMERICAN LEGION POST 39
Drew Webster American Legion Post 39 will be awarding up to 3 tuition scholarships of $500 each to qualifying area college students and high school seniors. Members of the American Legion Post 39 and their immediate families receive first consideration, but other veterans and their families may also be considered. Applications can be printed using the link or picked up in the guidance office. Applications must be received by the Drew Webster Post no later than April 19, 2022.

Description: Available to a child or grandchild of a Pomeroy High School Graduate. Applicants should send a transcript of grades, a current photo and a letter stating the following: College the applicant plans to attend, major the applicant plans to study, activities applicant has been involved in, parent/guardian's names, and the name and graduation year of the alumni parent or grandparent.
Gary G. Lee Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: May 6, 2022 . Application: Available in Guidance or it can be printed using this link. Mail to address on application. Description: Eligibility for this scholarship is limited to individuals with a permanent residence in Bedford Township, Meigs County, Ohio at least six months prior to graduating high school and/or six months prior to submitting this application to the selection committee.
Meigs County Beef Show-Calaway Classic 2022 Scholarship Application

Jordan Hardwick Memorial Scholarship
Available to female senior athlete. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and planning to pursue a degree in the medical, dental, veterinary or teaching field. No application to complete. Instead, applicants must write a one page essay answering "Why Do You Want to Work in the Medical Field" or "Why do you want to teach today's youth?". Essays should be returned to the guidance office. DO NOT include your name, only your student ID number. Essays must be submitted by April 29, 2022.
Gallipolis Elks Lodge #107 Scholarship
Available to graduating seniors in Gallia, Meigs, and Mason Co. Award is based on financial need as well as scholastic and leadership qualities. The application must be accompanied with an official high school transcript, a copy of ACT and/or SAT scores and at least two letters of recommendation. Deadline to apply is: July 5, 2022. OUCU Higher Education Scholarship
Members of the Ohio University Credit Union and their children are eligible to apply for this award which is available to incoming first-year students attending an institution of higher education other than Ohio University. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in community activities and/or talent areas in addition to academic achievement in high school. Three $2,000 scholarships will be awarded. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2022.
Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Scholarship
This is a $1,000 scholarship and to qualify:
- Career Goal in the Natural Gas and Oil Industry
- Ohio resident who plans to attend or who is already attending an accredited Ohio college, university, technical or trade school.
- Must have a 2.5 GPA
- This is a 4 year renewable scholarship for qualifying students.

The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development David V. Stivison
Appalachian Community Action Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is to help students with financial need (income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines) who are residents of COAD's 30-county service area who want to pursue higher education in an accredited 2 year or 4 year institution of higher education. This application can be printed or picked up in the guidance office and is due on (postmarked by) May 1, 2022. This application must be sent to the Gallia-Meigs Community Action Agency in Cheshire, Ohio.
People's Bank: Robert E. Evans Scholarship
Deadline: March 31, 2022. Description: Applicants must be a high school senior with a GPA of 2.8 or higher and planning to pursue a four-year degree in the areas of: Business, Education, Engineering, Liberal Arts, Math, Science or Technology. Preference will be given to those students having a financial need. A Student Aid Report (SAR) from FAFSA must be submitted with the application.
Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) Scholarships
There are multiple scholarships included on this application; however, only a couple are available to Meigs High School students. Some are major specific, some are school specific. You should read the description to find the ones that you are eligible for. You only need to complete one application and simply check mark the scholarships for which you are applying. The window in which they are accepting applications is from Feb. 15 - March 15, 2022
Pleasant Valley Hospital Health Foundation Healthcare Education Assistance Application
Recognizing that a serious shortage of health care professionals exists throughout the nation—including the Upper Ohio Valley and the state of West Virginia—and acknowledging the increasing cost of higher education, the PVHH Foundation has established the Pleasant Valley Endowment Fund to educate local students who have chosen a future in the health care industry.
Grant-In-Aid Loan -- Recipients are provided a direct education loan in a specified amount on a year-by-year basis. Recipients of the loan may apply in subsequent years for additional grant-in-aid loans and applications will be considered by the Foundation on a year-by-year basis. There exists the opportunity to obtain forgiveness pursuit to this program if the applicant meets certain requirements, which includes returning to work/affiliate at Pleasant Valley Hospital in his or her profession for a specified period of time.

CRUISIN' SATURDAY NIGHT CAR SHOW SCHOLARSHIP 2022
The recipient of this scholarship must be a Meigs County student graduating from Eastern, Southern or Meigs with a minimum of 1 scholarship to be awarded to each high school. A student planning to go into a mechanical science field will be given special consideration, but is open to any field of study. The 2022 recipients will each receive $1,000 each towards college expenses. Applications are due to the committee no later than March 1, 2022. Applications are in the guidance office, can be printed using the link or picked up at Hill's Classic Cars office.
IBI Group Scholarship Fund is established by IBI Group Engineering Services Inc., a multi-disciplinary global leader specializing in infrastructure, Buildings and Intelligence. The scholarship fund includes two $1,500 scholarships awarded annually. The primary objective of the scholarship is to foster college participation in students from southeastern Ohio. While students entering all career fields are eligible, there will be an emphasis on awarding the scholarships to those applicants interested in pursuing study in the field of civil engineering at an accredited university. Applications can be printed for you in the guidance office or printed by clicking on the link. The deadline for this scholarship is March 1, 2022.
Ohio Association of Public School Employees Memorial Scholarship Foundation Program is available to any graduating high school senior whose parent or legal guardian has been a member in good standing of the OAPSE/AFSCME Local 4/AFL/CIO for one year. The graduating senior must intend to enroll in a full-time degree program in any 2 or 4 year accredited university, college, business, or technical school. The scholarship may be used for any field of study. At least one scholarship of $2,500 is awarded to a scholarship applicant in each of the ten OAPSE/AFSCME Districts in the state. The application must be postmarked NO LATER than March 1, 2022.
Harry B. Crewson Freshman Scholarship
Members of the Ohio University Credit Union and their children are eligible for this scholarship. This award is available to incoming first-year students attending Ohio University who have demonstrated excellence in community activities and/or talent areas in addition to academic achievement in high school. Special emphasis is placed on contributions, honors, and recognition in all areas of community service, fine and performing arts, athletics, forensics, and other special talent areas and will be weighted heavily in the evaluation of each application. Scholastic achievement as reflected in ACT and SAT scores, class rank or academic record are also considered to be important criteria. Three $3,000 scholarships will be warded. Deadline for application is March 1, 2022.
SCHOLARSHIP OFFERING FOR JUNIORS:
The scholarship applications that we get in the guidance office are almost always for seniors, but there is now a scholarship opportunity available for JUNIORS! It is called the Horatio Alger Scholarship and the award value ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.
Eligibility criteria:
- Enrolled in high school full time and on track to graduate in 2023.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree in an accredited non-profit public or private institution (students may start their studies at a 2-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution).
- Demonstrated critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required).
- Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities.
- Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.
- Be a U.S. Citizen.
The deadline to apply for the Horatio Alger Scholarship Program is March 15, 2022.
