BOARD MEMBERS
Board Members are elected at large for four year terms. A member may serve unlimited consecutive terms. Board members are elected according to a schedule that staggers their term expiration dates. Officers serve a term of one year, and may be relected.
PRESIDENT - ROGER ABBOTT

Mr. Abbott is serving his 5th term on the school board. He is a 1971 graduate of Meigs High School. Roger has been employed with American Electric Power Company for the past 35 years. He and his wife of 38 years, Susie are lifelong residents of Meigs County. They have 3 children, Travis, Grant and Carrie, who are Meigs graduates as well as graduates of Ohio University, of which all are teachers. Roger has donated many hours to the Meigs and Pomeroy youth programs over the years while his children were growing up. Roger is a member of the Rocksprings United Methodist Church. Roger likes spending time with his family in his spare time.
VICE PRESIDENT- LARRY TUCKER
Mr. Tucker is serving his 1st term on the school board. He is a 1980 graduate of Meigs High School where he received his welding certificate. He is a lifelong Meigs County resident where he lives with his wife, Wendy (Gibbs) of 26 years, and two sons, David (Meigs High School 2005 graduate, attending the University of Rio Grande) and Morgan (9th grade at Meigs High School).
Mr. Tucker is a member of the Harrisonville Masonic Lodge #411, a 32 Mason out of Valley of Columbus, OH, co-advisor of his local 4-H club, and assistant boy scout leader with Troop #214 Rutland, OH. He and his wife are both members of the Harrisonville Chapter of the Eastern Stars. Larry has been employeed with Ferrellgas for the past 12 years.
He enjoys both baseball and football particularly the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals as well as ALL Meigs Local School District athletic teams.
MEMBER- RON LOGAN
Mr. Logan is serving his third term on the school board. He is a 1967 graduate of Pomeroy High School. A 1971 graduate of the Ohio State University with a bachelors of science in education. He began his teaching career at Gallia High School (1971-1973), then taught and coached in Meigs Local School District from 1973-2001, when he retired. After this current term as board of education member Mr. Logan will have devoted 40 years to the Meigs Local School District, its community, and students.
Ron has held his basketball officiating license for 25 years, which he spent most of his time officating girls varsity basketball. Mr. Logan is a member of the Middleport Masonic Lodge #363, Athens Chapter of Officials, OSU Alumni and Retired Teacher Associations.
Ron has been married to his wife Kay for 40 years, has two sons, Darin and Kevin. He also has two grandsons who attend Meigs Local School District.MEMBER - RYAN MAHR
Mr. Mahr graduated from Meigs High School in 1986. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing Technology from Rio Grande Community College in 1989. He then attended Ohio University where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering in 1993. Mr. Mahr has over 20 years of experience in manufacturing and engineering positions with local companies. Mr. Mahr is currently employed with Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia, in Buffalo, West Virginia.
This is Mr. Mahr’s first term serving on the Board of Education. Mr. Mahr resides in Rutland with his wife, Carol. They have five children currently enrolled in the school district: Steven, Brandon, Dillon, Austin, and Andrea. He is seeking to make a difference by helping improving our school system and is honored to be elected to the Board.
In his spare time, he and his wife volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and The Rutland Youth Baseball League. They are members of the Middleport Church of Christ.MEMBER - TODD SNOWDEN
Mr. Snowden is a 1980 graduate from Meigs High School where he participated in football, basketball, and baseball. He has attended both Hocking Technical College and Columbus State University. During his professional career Mr. Snowden has worked both union and non-union construction, boilermaker, and laborer positions. He was enlisted in the 3664 maintenance company of the national guard from 1984-1988. Todd has 28 years of experience at the Rutland Volunteer Fire Department, nine years with the squad and is still actively serving on both.
Mr. Snowden has three children, one grandson who is currently attending Meigs Local School District, and two more that will enter the district shortly. In his spare time Todd coaches baseball, softball, and basketball, as well as officiating both youth sports, and at the high school varsity and junior varsity levels. He is an avid hunter/fisherman and attends the Rutland Church of Christ.
